Our Response to Covid-19

Our hearts go out to everyone who has been impacted by the spread of the COVID-19 Virus.  We also give heartfelt thanks to everyone who is on the front line, caring for patients, responding to emergency calls, stocking our grocery and pharmacy shelves, keeping things going in essential services, and cleaning our properties.

With the introduction and distribution of vaccines from 3 manufacturers now we hope that everyone will have the comfort of knowing that they are safe very soon.

If you are not currently holding a reservation but would like to be added to the mailing list for updates about this and other news, please contact me.

We are taking special care for the safety and peace-of-mind of our guests.

In the Dominican Republic, all properties and vehicles are being treated by the resort staff between each new guest check-in.  The resort is well equipped to treat properties as they were doing this even prior to the spread of COVID-19 and have been working with a national heathcare consultancy to establish health and safety protocols.  The resort staff has undergone special training and hand sanitizers have been added to all venues throughout the resorts.

As of January 26, 2021, the United States is requiring that every individual show proof of negative COVID testing prior to being allowed into the country.  The Lifestyle Holiday resorts where our property is located is providing COVID testing without charge for all departing guests 3 days prior to departure.  This is the Antigen test for the presence of COVID-19.  The resort provides each tested guest with a certificate that can be used for travel, noting negative test results.  If the guest tests positive then they will provide further testing  (the PCR test) at a cost of $75.

There are a variety of protocols in place that you will notice during your stay:  disinfecting of all vehicles, including golf carts, before use, disinfecting all luggage upon arrival, taking temperatures of all employees and guests upon arrival (no-contact methods), provision of hand sanitizer, requirement that masks be worn throughout the resort (they may be removed once you are settled at the beach, pool, restaurant, or bar) and social distancing is being observed.  The resort has also created no-contact systems for service so it is easy to reach personnel, make dinner reservations, order liquors, etc. without face-to-face contact.

In The Florida Keys our cleaning crew pays special attention to high-touch points throughout each property.  This includes, but not limited to, light switches, door knobs, tv remotes, cabinet and drawer handles.  Each of our properties is disinfected following the turnover cleaning.  When weather permits, windows are left open and ceiling fans running in order to circulate fresh air, in accordance with CDC recommendations.

We will update this notice as we have new information.  In the meantime, our wish is that you and your family and friends are safe and healthy through this trying period.

Best Wishes,

Mary McKenney and the MaryHouse team
